The 1756-A7 is a seven (7) slot chassis from the ControlLogix Programmable Automation Controller (PAC) platform. The chassis is an open device with no protective housing, and its design features are mainly reflected in the fact that it has only 2 mounting clips on the top and bottom, which gives it greater flexibility when installing and deploying.

Functionally, the 1756-A7 is an important component in building the ControlLogix control system as a chassis. It provides a backplane connection that allows the module to be installed in the module insertion slot provided. In addition, it has a power supply installation slot, located on the far left side of the case, supporting ultra-thin, standard and power supply installation.

Regarding its hardware construction, the 1756-A7 is designed to allow for the installation or non-installation of 2 SEM screws. In the absence of SEM screws, 2 star washers are required in addition to 2 flat washers and 2 split lock washers. At the same time, if there are no SEM screws, four phillips screws are required; If used with SEM screws, only 2 phillips screws are required.
