The 3500-25-149369-01 is a half-height, dual-channel module that provides Keyphasor signals to monitor modules in the 3500 rack. The module receives input signals from proximity probes or magnetic pickups and converts these signals into digital Keyphasor signals to indicate when the Keyphasor mark on the shaft is aligned with the Keyphasor sensor. The design of this module enables it to surpass previous designs in terms of extended key signal processing power while maintaining full backward compatibility with existing Keyphasor modules.
In the 3500 mechanical protection system, up to four Keyphasor signals can be accepted for normal configuration, and up to eight Keyphasor signals can be accepted in the paired configuration. The key phase signal is a pulse signal from the rotating shaft or gear once or many times per revolution, which provides accurate time measurement and allows 3500 monitor modules and external fault diagnosis equipment to measure vector parameters such as 1X amplitude and phase.
The 3500-25-149369-01 also features a buffered sensor output, which can be obtained via a coaxial or European connector. In addition, there is a light-emitting diode (OK indicator) within the module to indicate that a fault has been detected within the key phaser module and a communication indicator to indicate when the key phaser module is communicating with the Frame Interface module (RIM).
