MVI71-DFNT is an Ethernet interface module, which is an important component of connecting Ethernet networks and devices. Its main function is to transfer frames between Ethernet networks and devices. The module usually includes a duplex port that is capable of both sending and receiving data. When sending data, the module adds a frame header to the packet, including the leading field and the frame start flag, generates a CRC check code, and then sends this data frame to the Ethernet. Upon receiving the data, the module decodes the packet received from the Ethernet, removes the frame header, performs address verification, and then caches the data onto the chip.

MVI71-DFNT usually has a variety of operating modes to meet different application requirements. For example, it may support sending back every frame received out of the duplex port, or sending back only those frames that meet predetermined evaluation criteria and discarding those that do not.
