netTAP 50 connects to a communication network and acts as a gateway for simple conversion between a real-time Ethernet protocol (1-port) and a fieldbus protocol or a serial automation protocol, and between a fieldbus protocol and a serial automation protocol. netTAP 50 supports Slave-zu-Slave and Slave-zu-Master-conversions. As a master device, netTAP 50 provides only a single slave device with full master device functionality. This makes it easy for users to integrate a single field device into any higher-level network.

The design of the netTAP 50 is compelling for its compact hardware and simplifies to the basic requirements of a protocol converter. Converters target factor cost-first segments, making netTAP 50 an attractive and universally applicable gateway with multiple conversion options.
