The RET630 Protection and control device is a member of the 630 product family of ABB’s Relion? product family. The 630 series devices feature scalable functionality and flexible configuration. The RET630 protection measurement and control device is designed as primary protection and is designed to provide complete protection for double-winding power transformers.
In order to meet typical transformer protection and control requirements, the device has two predefined configurations: one for use in double-winding HV/MV transformers without restricted ground protection, and the other for applications requiring limited ground protection. The predefined configuration can also be modified by selecting the required function module according to its specific requirements.
The RET630 protective measurement and control device can be used in single or dual bus applications with one or two circuit breakers, as well as a variety of other switching devices. It can also support a large number of manual and electric isolation switches, ground switches. Therefore, the RET630 protective measurement and control device can also be used to control many types of switchgear.
The RET630 protection measurement and control device fully supports IEC 61850 standard substation communication, including vertical and horizontal communication, covering GOOSE communication with switching signals and analog signals. The RET630 supports a variety of communication protocols, including DNP3 based on TCP/IP and IEC 60870-5-103 (serial) communication protocols. It supports communication protocols including IEC 61850, providing seamless connectivity to a wide range of substations and SCADA systems.
