These output devices are usually actuators or final control elements, such as motors, valves, pumps, etc.

In the DCS system, the role of the output device is to convert the results of the control logic or control algorithm into actual physical actions to achieve the control of the industrial process. For example, when the DCS detects that a process parameter is out of the set range, the UR9AH may issue a command to the corresponding output device, such as a valve, to adjust the flow of the process fluid to bring the process parameter back within the set range.
