The USB-8451 is an I2C/SPI interface device data acquisition card manufactured by National Instruments. It uses I2C, SMBus, and SPI protocols to connect to and communicate with devices. As a master or slave node interface for integrated circuit (I2C) or SCSI parallel interface (SPI) devices, the USB-8451 is used to connect and communicate with integrated circuit (I2C), system management bus, and serial peripheral interface devices. It has a plug-and-play USB connection and is a portable solution for communication with consumer electronics or integrated circuits.

In addition, the USB-8451 includes eight universal digital I/O cables that can be used for a variety of applications, such as configuring the address of an I2C device or switching leds. The module can be installed closer to the I2C/SPI device than the PCI interface, reducing the I2C bus length and effectively reducing noise issues. In addition, the interface provides +5V and GND voltage to the power supply circuit without the need for an external power supply.
