The base plate of the pm 864 controller has two RJ45 Ethernet ports (CN1, CN2) for connecting to the control network, as well as two RJ45 serial ports (COM3, COM4). One of the serial ports (COM3) is an RS-232C port with a modem control signal, while the other port (COM4) is isolated and used to connect to the configuration I device. The controller supports CPU redundancy divided by high availability (CPU, CEX bus, communication interface, and S800/O). Simple DIN rail connection/unloading program, using a unique slide and lock mechanism. All base plates have a unique Ethernet address, and each CPU has a hardware identifier. The address can be found on the Ethernet address label connected to the TP830 base plate.
